HMAS Perth to be scuttled

Date: 1/8/2001

On 24 November divers will receive a rare and exciting opportunity when HMAS Perth is scuttled off the coast of Albany, Western Australia, creating one of the largest artificial reefs in the world. The 133 metre ship will be scuttled in King George Sound for the use of recreational divers and ecosystem development. Funding for the scuttling of this ship is being sought by way of plaque sales. You can purchase a plaque that will be sunk with the ship to remain forever, with your own personal message on it.
