The public gave a huge vote of confidence for the Marsden Cove joint venture development between Hopper Developments and the Northland Port Corporation, on Saturday 30 April. This first release was for 100 sections. Lots with canal frontage had reserves starting at $600,000 and non-canals section started at $240,000. At the end of the auction 52 sections had sold for $29 million. The developmentâs two prime waterfront sites realized $1,705,000 and $1,700,000 respectively. This is an indication of the value people place on having a life style that offers easy access to some of New Zealandâs most favourable fishing, diving and cruising waters. Marsden Cove is a canal housing and marina project located on the pristine shoreline of the Whangarei harbour less than 2 hours drive north from Auckland.
The final development will comprise approximately 350 canal frontage lots, retail area, 250 berth marina and up to 400 residential lots overlooking the marine village.
