What appears to be a significant wreck discovery, was made off the South East Queensland coast, on 30
September 2005 by divers Ian Eberhardt and Kevin Denlay. Found laying in approximately 60m/197ft, this wreck appears to date from the late 19
century. Two of the bottles brought up from the site were of foreign origin and date from between 1820-1890. Given the depth the wreck lies in, helium based breathing mixtures were used by the divers. Sharks abound so a Shark Shield is a must. This wreck being older than 75 years now comes under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth Historic Shipwreck Act 1976 (HSA Australia).
