A UK sportsman, Mark Threadgold, set a new world record by becoming the first blind diver to reach a depth of 100 metres. The 38 year old lost his sight six years ago but has already notched up world records for power boating and water speed. His latest record was achieved in the Red Sea, in Egypt. This diver said: âJust because Iâm blind, it doesnât stop me doing anything that anybody else does. Weâve still got ambitions – if you can do it, I can do it too.â
