Children Save Seal Pup

A group of children who saved a seal pup from an agonising death received a pat on the back from the Department of Conservation and a warning that they risked a nasty bite. The young friends were playing at the Nelson waterfront when they saw the seal pup had a yellow rope around its body. They fed the seal fish while one boy cut the rope off with a knife.
