HMAS Canberra on her way to a naval hideaway beneath the waves

Decommissioned in 2005, she will be sunk two nautical miles offshore, in 30 metres of water between Point Lonsdale and Barwon Heads, Victoria Australia, to become a scuba diving attraction. The Federal Government contributed $7 million and the Victorian Government $1.5 million to the project.

will spend the next 10 months at Geelong being prepared for sinking.
