Tiniest fish a big find

Date: 27/03/2009

The smallest whale shark ever found was rescued from a hawker in the Philippines province of Sorsogon. Scientists are celebrating the discovery of the 38cm baby whale shark. Little is known about where the biggest fish in the ocean goes to give birth to its live young. The Philippines was thought to be just a stop-off point for the rare species. A WWF spokesman said the tiny size of the whale shark indicated the coastline might be a birthing site.
