British Actor in Scuba Accident

Date: 2/6/2009

Martin Clunes was diving the wreck of the John Strachan steamboat, near Islay in Scotland when he suffered breathing difficulties. An experienced scuba diver, Martin commented that he was scared about snagging diving gear and getting trapped and had trouble with his mask which made him panic. Clunes visibly struggled to regain his composure once back on board but then resumed the nuanced professorial tone and whispered hauntingly: ‘I knew I had to try to breathe normally but I was panicking and all I wanted to do was cry.’
