Destruction due to fish bombings

Underwater coral reefs and the ecosystem around Menjangan Island, Bali, is on the brink of destruction due to the increased practise of fish bombing by local fishermen. Homemade explosives are used to catch fish and are a most destructive fishing method, inflicting irreversible damage on reefs. Local diving operators urge the local administration and security agencies to take firm measures to save the island’s reefs.
