Historic Shipwrecks Located In Norway

Date: 31/12/2010

An international team of researchers discovered nearly 24 well-preserved shipwrecks in the lakes of the Telemark Waterway in south-central Norway. The shipwrecks are suspected to range in date from the Medieval/Viking age to the mid-19th century. The team, from ProMare (Chester, Connecticut), the Norwegian Maritime Museum, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Teledyne Gavia ehf (Kopavogur, Iceland), will return to the area in the summer of 2011 to continue exploring the waterways.
