Attention Drawn to Hector’s Dolphin

Date: 31/12/2010

Freedive world record holder William Trubridge (New Zealand) is using his diving skills to draw attention to dwindling numbers of one of the world’s rarest dolphin, the Hector’s dolphin. Swimming alongside the Hector’s dolphins Trubridge could see for himself just how beautiful they are. He commented, ‘because the dolphins are underwater, there’s an attitude of out of sight, out of mind. If the Hector’s dolphin had four legs and lived on land we’d be putting a lot more effort into making sure that they survive.’
