Aircraft Recovered in 3,300 metres

Phoenix International Holdings Inc (USA) recovered the wreckage of a US Navy E-2C Hawkeye twin-turboprop airplane from 3,300m of seawater in the north Arabian Sea. It crashed during flight operations from an aircraft carrier. A 6,000 metre-rated remotely operated vehicle was used along with equipment from the Navy’s Fly Away Deep Ocean Salvage System which is designed to lift heavy, bulky items from deep water.
