Snorkeller left on Great Barrier Reef

Date: 1/8/2011

A 28 year old American tourist swam for help after being left behind on a Great Barrier Reef snorkelling trip in Australia. He was forced to swim to another vessel owned by the same company, whose employees radioed for Passions of Paradise to return. The staff member who failed to properly perform the head count has reportedly been sacked. Marine Safety Queensland and Workplace Health and Safety are investigating.
