Great White Sharks

Date: 1/10/2011

Scientists tagged a record 27 great white sharks off New Zealand’s Stewart Island to research their behaviour around the coast line. Scientists hope information from the tags determine if the sharks are transient or based in New Zealand. Malcolm Francis (NIWA) said the tags would record an exciting set of data of where each shark was and when. Several great white sharks tagged in previous years have returned to Stewart Island.
