Divers Recovered After South Coast Drift
Two divers were rescued after drifting several miles along Britain’s South Coast after becoming separated from their dive boat. The pair were in a group which carried out a drift dive off Portland Bill. Their charter boat put out a prompt emergency call when they had not returned to the boat as planned. A search was carried out and the divers were recovered by the helicopter after being spotted 1.5 miles south-west of Portland, a spring tide having carried them 4.5 miles in an hour from their original position further east.
