Drowned Man Planned to Quit Job

Date: 1/8/2013

A Taupo man, presumed drowned after going missing off the Queensland coast while harvesting sea cucumber, was
on his last assignment before heading back to New Zealand. Matthew Shrimpton, 35, was manning a small boat, operating a generator to feed air to his diving colleague when the boat spun out of control and threw him into the sea, knocking him unconscious. Matthew had been working as a diver for a MacKay-based diving company North Cape Fisheries, harvesting sea cucumbers.
